Tech Crew Visit BETT2017

10 members of ESJ Technical Crew attended BETT 2017 at the ExCEL (Exhibition Centre London).

 

Bett is the world's leading education technology event, annually celebrated in the UK. Thousands of teachers, students and technical staff come to meet suppliers of software and technology used within education.

 

The students were able to talk to the vendors and get hands on experience of some of the latest technologies and see a wide range of career opportunities available to young people in computing, technical support, sales and marketing.

What is the ESJ Technical Crew?

The aim of ESJ Tech Crew is to learn about technology used within the school and wider community and support their peers, parents, carers and school staff in their use of IT

Initially five topics are covered to be awarded a Technical Crew badge.

 

Topics:

1. Printing - Follow Me Biometric printers
2. Office 365 &  BYOD (bring your own device)
3. Audio visual equipment - Projectors and speakers.
4. Managing files and folders, using web folders.
5. Basic IT Support, troubleshooting

 

They are also able to learn about the schools presentation equipment in the Main Hall to support in school events i.e. assemblies.
